Once you add or import games, by default, the games are considered Unpublished, and therefore are not visible to your officials. Unpublished games can be modified, reassigned, or deleted and assigned officials will not be notified.

Once you are ready for your officials to see their assigned games, or view unassigned games (if you're using Game Requests or Self-Assign), you'll need to publish those games.

Games can be published in two main ways:

  1. One at a time, from the Games → All Games page.

  2. In bulk, from the Games → Batch Update page.

How to Publish Games

One at a Time:

  1. Navigate to the Games → All Games page.

  2. Select Publish Game to the left of whatever game(s) you wish to publish.

In Bulk:

  1. Navigate to the Games → Batch Update page.

  2. Under Find Games to Update, filter on the games you wish to make changes to.

  3. Under Choose an Action, select Publish Games.

  4. Select Change All, or select the games you wish to change, then select Change Only Selected.

Frequently Asked Questions about Publishing Games.

1. How do I know if a game is published?

The Publish Game button to the left of the game will no longer be visible. Instead, you will see a green Published icon.

2. What happens once I publish a game?

Once a game is published, assignment notifications will be sent to your officials. There is a short delay before notifications are actually sent, in case you change your mind and wish to quickly un-publish a game.

Published games will be immediately visible in an official's iCalendar feed.

Officials can only view published games that are assigned to them, with the exception of sites that are using game requests or self-assign.

3. What happens if I un-publish a previously published game?

If a published and assigned game is un-published, the assigned officials will receive a notification stating that they have been removed from the game.

Similarly, if you re-publish that game with any of the previously assigned officials on it, they will receive another notification of the assignment, as if it were a new one.

Because of this, we do not recommend unpublishing and re-publishing games as part of your regular process. In other words, once games have been published, they are intended to remain published.
